When it comes to Festivals, it can be a challenge to impress the young ones. Many are dragged in by their parents and left to pass the time in their own little world unless something catches their attention. Luckily, the Highland’s Festival Youth and Teens Committee is fully dedicated to making sure all young ones have a good time. In fact, this year, there is an entire park dedicated to kids and family fun.
Engaging and interactive magic shows, storytime, hands-on crafts, performances by the Barter Youth Academy, and even a workshop to write and illustrate their own books inspire creativity and explore Appalachian culture in a unique and creative way. There is even a talent show that kids can enter and win prizes!
It’s a prime volunteer opportunity for those who enjoy working with kids and developing new ideas to keep them entertained. So if you want your own kid or any younger children in your family to be as happy and interested as you are during the Festival, make your way to “Festival Park” and the activities from the Youth and Teens committee, and give them an experience they’ll never forget.
There are no upcoming events at this time.
We always make sure to provide education as entertainment because that’s what makes the kids happy. – Aline Backes
