Held in Historic Abingdon and the surrounding area, the annual Virginia Highlands Festival offers juried fine art and crafts, antiques, performing and literary arts, music, local history, the great outdoors, and fun for kids of all ages!
Parking & Transportation
Ample parking is available in the Festival lots off I-81 at exits 14 (Antiques Market at Washington County Fairgrounds) and 19 (Rose’s/Wolf Hills Shopping Center).
Free shuttles to Festival sites and Abingdon’s Historic District from these lots, 9:30 AM-6 PM.

Street parking & smaller lots are available throughout downtown Abingdon.
Festival Park is our central info hub in downtown Abingdon, located in the park at Main and Wall Streets. You’ll find the Festival info tent, our Youth activities area, and First Aid station. This is the place to meet up with family and friends. Begin your Festival here, or relax and regroup before jumping back out to create more memories.
The Johnston Memorial Hospital will provide a first aid station at the Juried Arts and Crafts Show on Remsburg Drive.

Lost & Found
Lost & Found is generally kept at each Festival venue. Items lost at Arts & Crafts may be found at the Vendor Information booth near the food vendors.
Admission to Arts & Crafts is free, but we would greatly appreciate a $1 donation per person as you enter. These can be given at the Festival Information tent at either end of Remsburg Dr. where Arts & Crafts is located.
Admission to the Antiques Market is $5 per day or $15 for a “season pass.”
Tickets for events at Barter Theatre are available at the Barter Box Office: (276) 628-3991. Tickets for other events are available at the performance or as indicated on the event information listing. You may find tickets are available in advance to many Festival events on www.BrownPaperTickets.com (link is external).
Wheelchairs are available to borrow at the Antiques Market and at Juried Arts & Crafts. Most Festival venues are handicapped accessible. If you are uncertain or need to make special arrangements, please call the Festival office at (276) 623-5266.
Some events may be eligible for teacher recertification. Teachers should get approval from their school systems.
