Dr. Blaine Schubert and Dr. Chris Widga of the Don Sundquist Center of Excellence in Paleontology, East Tennessee State University

The Saltville valley in southwest Virginia is a well-known Ice Age locality that has been the subject of paleontological curiosity since the 18th century. For the last 15 years, the Don Sundquist Center of Excellence in Paleontology at East Tennessee State University has been involved in a long-term project to better understand the Ice Animals that once roamed the valley. Join ETSU paleontologists as they explore the history of paleontological investigations in the valley and present updates on new finds.
