Antiques Seminars

Antiques Market, Tent A, Booths 57 & 77
Presented by Lindee Daw of Truly Vintage

Imagine the luxurious feel of vintage silk, that has been sometimes hand-woven and always hand-sewn, across your bare shoulders and atop a little black dress, camisole or tank paired with jeans or over an evening gown while on a cruise. And even sported as a cover-up over that swimsuit that rides up a little too high when away from the water. In addition, this exquisite, most often one-of-a-kind garment, may have been worn and languished in by a Japanese aristocrat (identified by the family crest evident on the kimono) who chose to have it custom made, decorated and hand-painted with the loveliest of appointments. These are sometimes taken from nature in the form of the botan (peony), momiji (maple leaf), and sakura (cherry blossom), to name just a few.
The art of wearing Japanese kimono is synonymous with wearing the Art of Japan. For more information contact Susan Kimbrell at 276-676-1101 or 276-608-0339.
